Buy local by joining a CSA, I have been a farm shareholder for the last 4 years and I love it, inexpensive amazing vegetables every Saturday, a real treat!
Read how others are catching on here:
I know you are jealous and you should be, so find one near you here

(A couple of good books on the topic, Michael Pollen, The Omnivore's Dilemma and Barbara Kingsolver Animal, Vegetable, Miracle)
I am finding that I am becoming a locavore and loving every minute of it.

Good for you, Corby! That's a great message to put out there. For the first year I'm selling veggies at our local farmers market and sell on our local Locally Grown website. Three of my close friends have been organic farmers for years - one of them started a CSA a couple of years ago - and are sort of mentoring us through the process. It's hard work but so worth it and actually lucrative, considering it's a side/hobby thing. It's a way to pay back for the toll my commute takes on the environment and my wallet. I've always grown my own food, but this year I've expanded on a grand (for me) scale - even bigger and better next year. What a difference a green house and a tractor make (or friend with tractor).

DW- ok now I am jealous, I wish I could grow my own food but I just do not have time. As an artist with a full-time job (except for summer) I have to spend my spare time in the studio, although I do manage to sneak a few minutes out in the garden. So I joined the CSA but I miss so much about growing food. (My parents grew a lot of our food when I was young)
Ah well, farm markets I guess.

And you have a greenhouse so now I am even more jealous...early tomatoes yum...
