The clouds go to the mountains and crown their heads. You can see the snow just glowing out against the face of the rock. It is whiter then the sky and almost luminous as the brief brightness of the sun strikes it. These snow trails hide inside the cracks of the mountains creating a cascade of lines that emphasize the pointed tips of the upward slopes.

I was sure I left a comment here (guess not) for I was so taken by the majestic beauty of this mountain, how it rises up into the sky, reaching through the clouds, the whiteness of the snow so pristine & untouched. :)

It had snowed on it the previous evening believe it or not! Many times it was snowing on the mountains when I was there in August...brrrr....
but I took this at the endless dawn (it takes forever for the sun to get any strength) on a beautiful hike behind the cabin I was in. It is by a place called Sheep Mountain a reserve for Dall Sheep.
