Regal is the best description. I saw a bald eagle over the upper Mississippi on Christmas eve - it was in a populated area. Are they making a comeback? If so, I find the timing charming and, perhaps symbolic.
I'm just now catching up on all I missed here - nothing but the usual spectacular verses and photos that make my heart sing.
Oh, and a resurrection of the Promethean legend. I can see you are struggling with more pain and bad news - I'm so sorry.
Thanks for these pages, Corby - for sharing your thoughts, insights, photos, paintings - your joys and sorrows. I wish you peace and joy in the coming year - and for Jean and Dianne, too - all the best.
Personally I think it will be so good to say goodbye to this year and look ahead - I'm hopeful that it will be a year of slow but steady healing.
bird nerd alert: Yes they are actually making quite a comeback in the lower 48. They never had much difficulty in Alaska and are almost common. Protection, reintroduction, and cleaning up our polluted waterways have given them a chance to rebound. More and more people are seeing them and it is a marvelous thing when you do.
I am in the midst of some very sad news indeed. I appreciate your thoughtful comments on this blog. I also do hope for a wonderful year but I am afraid my sadness may overlap into it. Better to face the sadness of loss then to not love at all. I have always been a firm believer in living life the way you hear your own song to be. I follow that despite skepticism, criticism, and general head shaking. My heart may be soft but it is always full and sorrow is worth the price of the joy.
Thank you, dw, that is very kind of you to think of me. I love coming here to visit Corby and read your comments when you stop by. ♥ Have a wonderful New Year, may it be filled with all that brings you joy and happiness.
